My name is Ian a 37 year old Senior Technical Speicalist (I.T.) in local government. I am married to Vanessa and live in the Humberstone area of Leicester.

We are both interested in ancient sites and are also keen paranormal investigators being website moderators for The Paranormal Gateway (www.theparanormalgateway.com) taking part in ghost investigations at haunted locations throughout the UK. We also are accredited investigators with ASSAP (www.assap.org).

I really enjoy this site, especially as it features ‘lesser known’ places that you can’t normally find.

Heard about the Rollrights sometime ago & always wanted to pay a visit. Finally got the chance following a weekend away in Bourton-on-the-Water last weekend arriving 15/11/02. Got to see them on Sunday and was suitably impressed, although the stones were a lot smaller than I expected having been used to visiting Avebury many times.

Had the circle to ourselves (myself, fiancee & 2 friends) apart from a lone photographer getting an atmospheric shot thru a hole in one of the stones! It was a damp bright morning with a touch of mist over the surrounding fields which gave an eerie interesting feel to the circle.

Would like to visit again & do one of the walks in the area.

I would recommend a visit to anyone touring the Cotswolds.

The Humber Stone

This was taken at Easter this year (2002). Our two visiting friends are in the foreground & my fiancee is stood behind me while I took the pic. There appears to be a figure stood in the background near to a tree – there was no-one there when I took this!!
