I'm sure you're right to point out its a national trend. On the other hand, hanging over this particular village is the fact NT owns most of it combined with their published medium term aim to ban all vehicles from there.... At least, that's what I understood. Has anyone any details?

I don't doubt that this is an issue, but even if you removed the NT from the equation, I'm certain you'd be left with a middle-class dormitory village with littl in the way of local community or industry. The country's full of them. Ironically, I suspect the NT and all the issues surrounding Avebury have helped glue the community together up until now. But then I don't know much of the background, so I'm probably talking rubbish!
