Cursuswalker,

I don't think the issue is with Paganism. It seems to be that the anti-social behaviour of a minorit(?) are spoiling it for the serious Pagans. When I see "Pagans" at ancient sites I get the impression that there are numerous pseudo-Pagans present, almost as a trendy hippy type might. For many it'll be a phase they are going through. I don't mean this in a demeaning way towards Pagans, it's just that some of the hangers on are giving Paganism a bad name.

Regards,
TE.

Yeah, but what's a 'serious' pagan? I mean I feel a spiritual connection with these places and an intuitive leaning towards native celtic spirituality, but I wouldn't brand myself as a "serious pagan". But I do like to turn up at Avebury during the larger festivals and mix with a bunch of similarly inclined people. The problem isn't the "serious pagans" or the "weekend pagans" or the "hippies" or any other sub-group you care to slap a label on - it's the usual minority of idiots that will inevitably get attracted to any 'alternative' event once it exceeds a certain size. I've no idea what the solution is, but it's a shame that one can't be found that accommodates all concerns.
