Well, considering the fact that Paganism (or Neo-Paganism to give it its full title) is a relatively new religion/group of religions/whatever, I'm not surprised new ceremonies seem to keep turning up.

I can imagine Wiccans would be very much into lunar focussed rituals, in fact I often think my practice should have a more lunar focus as well.

So in a sense it's all "made up"

Isn't there a really simple resolution to all this? A campsite should be set up near Avebury by the Notional Trust, with cheap rates for a one night stay, in order to encourage its use.

I agree that the overnight camping in the car-park is a pain, but it makes me very uncomfortable to see the way this seems to be spreading into an attack on Paganism at Avebury overall.

In the past I have always had the impression that my money was welcome in the Pub, Restaurant and gift-shos. Maybe I was wrong about that...
