There are several possibilities: Pete G "replied" to my post just because it was the last one in line and was being sarcastic. Or, Pete really intended to reply to my post, and was being sarcastic. Or, he was seriously replying to my post, and has a new rule. Because, of course, Pete was immensely gracious a few years back when he met with four unknowns from the Stone Pages--albeit in Jimit's and Nigel's company--and gave them a tour of Avebury. So I'm confused. But, that's not unusual.

Yes, I think this is the case.

Pete may have appeared to be immensely gracious to you in 2004. I do not doubt that. However I think your confusion arises due to certain fallings-out between PeteG and other members of this board over some inexcusable behaviour. I could go into some hideous and graphic detail, but I will spare you such cruelty on a public messageboard.
