I don't know but I doubt it simply because I went on a passenger ferry which seemed to be full of day trippers like me.I don't remember anyone having much luggage and I didn't see any bikes on board.

But you could check with the ferry company.

I remember that I felt that the ferry trip was a little long for a day trip. You can fly but it's much more expensive and probably even more so to take a bike.

I remember that on the ferry they played a tourist guide over the speaker system. Points of interest are highlighted as you go along.

The only one I remember was John le Carre's cottage being pointed out while at the same time commenting on his desire for privacy... Something like 'to the right is the cottage of the reclusive and very private author of John le Carre...' The irony seemed lost on them.

When I went, the standard helicopter charge was £100 return. The plane was £80, but I got a special offer reduction and an early morning (08:15) flight for £50-odd.

No idea what today's prices are, but the helicopter service ends soon (1st Oct?) and the plane doesn't fly out of season as far as I know. That may change, but expect the price to go up as it's now the only real alternative to the ferry. 15 mins flight opposed to 3+ hours on the ferry?
