I'll answer your questions in the order you ask:

No problems, just relax and I'm sure you'll find it - we did!

Don't be so thorough - I'm sure you'll find it just where you least expected it!

From what you say, I'm not sure you're in the right field, what's the revision date on your map? You definitely don't have to cross any walls.

I didn't come in from the B6265, where are you coming from?

Shame you're having problems - you'd been doing so well too!

I'd definitely take the tent - camping can be so relaxinggggggggggggggg at this time of year.

The wall wasn't on the map, it was on the ground. The map doesn't show any walls to cross, so we didn't. But we looked pretty systematically in what certainly sounds like the right field - that's why I asked, in case it is actually in the next field maning you'd have to go over a wall....

I'm really confused now, surely the B6265 is the only way to approach it by car...?

Erm, Jean Jeanie... I think you've perhaps got your sites mixed up. There definitely *is* a wall. You'll remember from your visit it's the one *right next to* the site!!! As seen in my photograph, here:

And again, quite clearly, in Fitz' shot:

I still don't understand how you got there if you didn't use the B6265, even if you were on a bike.

As for the pen system. There are three gates - one into one field, another for the track and finally one into the other field. They are gates *not* a pen system. There is a pen inside the field you have to cross, but it's not gonna get obstructed by a car parked on the verge away from the gates.

Moth - I had the same problem, by the way. The wall isn't on the map but is on the ground, as you said. Cross the wall and follow it up and you'll find the circle.

weird! isn't the B6265 the only way to approach it?
