"Mr Roche has decided that the new National Monument found at Lismullen should be preserved 'by record', in other words, studied in detail and then the motorway will be built as scheduled."
So what is the point of the Green Party then? They've been given a Government oversight post for the Environment and still buy into this?
There is no hope....

Roche signed the order on Tuesday night when the Greens had just finished negotiations with his Fianna Fáil (soldiers of destiny) party. Roche was demoted today to a junior ministry to make way for the Green, John Gormley. Gormley now finds himself in the position where he will have to defend Roche's actions in the inevitable legal challenge.
86% of Green delegates voted for them to enter government. They feel they can affect change in their 'priority' areas. Gormley's full title is Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. I suppose we should give him a chance but from where I'm sitting, he's got off to a poor start.
