"The Green Party's negotiators admitted that the proposed Government programme was far from perfect from their point of view, with failures to secure movement on issues like the use of Shannon Airport by the US military, the building of the M3 motorway through the Tara valley, and hospital co-location."

I know its balls, I voted for the greens based on them promising to re-route the M3.
Isnt it the Minister for the Environment that can decide whether to destroy a national monument or not?
I presume that the Greens will take this post. It will be down to them to decide whether to preserve the Lismullen henge by record is the way to go.
However if they choose not to do this what happens?
Wouldnt it have to be preserved on the ground? Therefore the M3 would have to be routed around it.
Just a thought, lets hope they have a few tricks up their sleeves.

"Mr Roche has decided that the new National Monument found at Lismullen should be preserved 'by record', in other words, studied in detail and then the motorway will be built as scheduled."

So what is the point of the Green Party then? They've been given a Government oversight post for the Environment and still buy into this?
There is no hope....
