Yeah it's nice round Pilsbury castle....good walk up the valley from Hartington.
Think I recognise the stone in your photo....there are other similar lonesome stones sorta further south around Pilsbury 'village' itself, mostly on paths or junctions...maybe waymarkers or like you say gateposts.
