The ‘Vertical Swamp of Cairn Menyn’ allusion might go over the heads of most but I can confirm that such a ‘vertical swamp’ does, actually, exist (and
here’s a pic of it with Mr B in the lead). At this point I wish to make clear that I had no part in leading Mr and Mrs B into said vertical swamp but continued, along with moss, to hold the fort back at base camp until their safe return :-)
