Just for a bit of fun...and to brighten up a soggy solstice *...who can come up with a really naff antiquarian themed gift? I have suggested the English Heritage Stonehenge snowstorm (see latest Stonehenge thread) but Moth thinks he can do better...but has no proof.

* Don't bother heading to Cornwall to see the solstice...its P'ing down and misty.

Just realised topic titles have a limit to how many characters you can use...this thread is not limited to people who have an antiquarian in them!

Mr H

Great thread!

I've got a Silbury fridge magnate and a Silbury horse brass :-)

If you really want inspiration on mega-naff creations though this might be the place to go - http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2008/jun/21/archaeology.heritage

We have a Menorcan tea towel with a taula monument on it, a Carnac ashtray, and ring of Brodgar rings.

We spotted a snowstorm with a Menorcan taula monument in it at a market in Mahon. Couldn't quite bring myself to purchase it though.

For the discerning tat shopper, I can highly recommend Luxor! The Egyptians produce some very splendid antiquarian tourist tat. I remember a little lighter in the shape of Tutankhamun's mask. The flame came out of the top of his head.

OK, I'll volunteer. Everyone mail me the tackiest Stonehenge gear you can find. I'll wear it all at once, get Loie to take a photo, and 'Shop myself into one of our Stonehenge pictures, in full cap, buckle, tshirt, teat towel over arm, snowglobe brandishing regalia. The more the better.
