Getting to Cork

I think the shortest ferry is Fishguard/Rosslare, which takes around 6 hours if memory serves me well. Can't remember how much it cost us.

Of course, you've then got the drive to Fishguard and Rosslare-Cork to deal with...

One piece of advice: pay the extra for a cabin so you can get some kip! It's worth it.

I did the fast-ferry from Rosslare to Fishguard about 3 years ago. It took about an hour and a half and we split the cost between 4 of us. Four adults and a car, return, was reasonable enough, can't remember how much but under 400 Euros.

We were going to Bournemouth and the drive was long, across the south coast of Wales. I wouldn't do it again, reckoning a lo-cost flight and the hire of a car to be much more relaxing.

The hi-speed catamaran ferry was great.
