Still, look on the bright side, its only £5 a day for twelve year olds, and they can get that back easily from the dealers tent. It's everyone's history so where's the harm in helping yourself to it?

‘Istry’s a mystery
But hartifacts ain’t
They lay in yer ‘and
All ancient and quaint
I dig ‘em for fun
I dig ‘em all day
I dig ‘em to save ‘em
Or share on Ebay.
Now wots wrong with yow
With yer archie complaint?
They’m a common resource
So they’m there to be got
By them as is common
Not them as is not.

Guffaw!!!

Chuckle...

S'treuth Nigelswift, oldfella,
To deny a chap with his rod a little pleasure,
Theres gold in them thar fields,
So I'll plunder the land
With steel rod in hand
And PAS can share in my yield...

If I plodded down to the end of the field
As my little rods did intend,
Murphy would be there to tell me
The hartifacts are at the other end.

With apologies to Bert Whitney (and I ain't sayin' nothi' more on this subject ;-)

hehe

I bought a cheap 'tector last year. I had two gos at it - once down the footpath by my house and once on the Clwydian Hills. Honestly, I died of boredom and put it in the cupboard. I found it got in the way of more interesting things like using your eyes.

So anyone want to buy my detector before I put it on the 'bay along with the rusty old nail I found?
