Nigel

I rang E.H. up yesterday (I need to speak to an archaeologist). It's the first time I've had any contact with them at all. First impressions are that they akin to E.N. One of the two archaeologists emailed me yesterday evening about the Bolton stuff, said to get in touch with the Lancashire county archaeologist. Thoroughly provided me with his address and contact details, full initials. Problem is - Bolton's been in Greater Manchester county since 1974.

Does this sound familiar ?

I'm saying nowt. ;)

Except....

HA has had occasion to write to various of their local officers and the response has been variable. I have an idea that a lot of enquiries get routed through the Regional Offices and that can have random effects.

One wheeze is to email them at customer services. They have a strict service standard that says they have to respond quickly. So you can get a prompt reply saying they're getting someone on the case.
Which is nice....
