Having noticed the recent additions of museums as sites, the Eds would like to remind contributors about the 'Facilities' section.

Museums should really be added as 'Facilities'. They can be added in the normal way to an appropriate area using the 'Add' drop-down menu. The details and descriptions added can be accessed from any site in the vicinity using the 'Facilities within x km' drop-down menu.

If, as with the stones at the Tullie House Museum, carved stones have come from specific locations, the images should be posted under those locations (with a note to explain their current whereabouts). For example, the Honeypots photos are best posted at the Honeypots site, but with a pointer to the Tullie House Museum information.

Images of stones with no specific provenance, but known to have come from a particular area (eg Cheshire) should be posted under those wider areas.

Comments are welcome.

that's certainly what I'd like to see happening, it puts museum-entombed stones into a landscape context

I think it's a cracking idea. It'd be good to know what was ripped from where and locked up in a museum.

As long as the image comment states where the stone is now it'll work beautifully.

In this case, the museum is more than 20km away from the original site, how would the facility then be found?..also what if a picture shows more than one stone from different areas?..post the same pic on more than one site?..ie.. picture of stones from Honeypots & Old Parks.
