I was at the BM last week, the prehistory section is slightly (only slighty mind) better than my last visit. It's odd because they have the prehistory stuff, then the Roman stuff followed by the Bronze Age.
The Folkton drums were looking rather splendid sharing a case with three Scottish carved balls.
I also saw some beautiful paleolithic flint tools that had been found at Thebes 100,000 BC!

By not going chronologically you are enabled to see each 'age' afresh, avoiding overload on any section.

Never mind - go to the Museum of London instead. Their stuff is in chronological order and their prehistoric material is very well displayed in the "London before London" gallery - See here http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=6843
