Lanyon Tearoom (Cafe, Penzance)

After visiting Lanyon Quoit, and a bracing walk to Men an Tol and the Nine Maidens, this place was just what was needed. The best cream tea we have EVER had - home made scones and home made jam, delicious clotted cream, and a big steaming pot of tea. Run by the couple who own Lanyon Farm, and just down the road from the path to Men an Tol, I can't recommend this lovely farmyard tearoom enough. They make their own jam, marmalade and chutneys which are for sale in the tearoom, and the marmalade is to die for! There is also a mouth-watering selection of homemade cakes to choose from.

I'm not sure I should be recommending this place, as the marmalade will all sell out!

It may be worth phoning in advance to make sure that they will be open.

My name is Squid Tempest. I used to curate Noiseweb, the website of the Noisemakers, a diverse group of musicians and bands who originally met on the Head Heritage forums. Of late I have handed on this responsibilty in favour of spending more time on my own music as Black Tempest

I live Tempest Towers in Godalming, Surrey with my wife Suzie Squid and the two Squidlings, boys aged 13 and 10.

Peace and Noise,
Squid
