Nether Balfour was destroyed in 1847. However the circle wasn't at the farm. Leave the B944 heading west from the Bridge of Alford and take the second road north. The first crossroads is a good place to stop. To the left is the Nether Balfour farm and to the right a small row of bungalows. The circle was situated in a field in front of these houses looking down onto the River Don.

This circle was completely destroyed in 1847. The cretinous farmer reported finding a causeway of paved stones leading up to the site of the circle.

No trace now remains.
