Excavations of Cursus at Tormore


Archaeologists have been excavating the recently-discovered 1.1km long cursus on the island of Arran. The article in The Scotsman shows the Lidar scans that alerted them to the parallel mounds (now merely 30cm high). Few examples are known from the west coast of Scotland.

Thanks for that Rhiannon, as I'm really interested in a cursus and the use and interaction with it in the local society. For anyone interested, the book 'Inscribed Across the Landscape - the Cursus Enigma' by Roy Loveday (ISBN o 7524 3652 x) is a great read. The Eternal Posted by The Eternal
