Clach Ossian

Natural Rock Feature

Clach Ossian (Natural Rock Feature) by Howburn Digger Sketch of Ossian's Stone and the grave mound of the soldier killed in the construction of this section of Wade's Military Road. Incidentally the Military Road can be seen making a very deliberate swing around the stone in the foreground of the sketch. This detour is also visible on the ground, on Canmore and on aerial views. It throws into question whether this boulder was ever moved to make way for the road.
