Cheers H- F - I noticed after my post that the NE Allington Downs barrow is in Scubi's first pic on the linked report. Don't know how I missed it before!

When I walked along there the path was a uniform width the whole way until it reached the byway, so this is a shame (even if it is reinstated). I met a couple coming up from the NE on my walk, the first people I had seen for a while. Not surprising though as the path is an obvious one to integrate into a longish walk taking in Wansdyke and to/from Avebury. In view of the recent publicity given to walks using to Swindon-Devizes bus, hopefully the council will at least take some action.
