Sugarloaf is a recent name, fairly, though there would have been another name before it. You can still buy sugarloaf. Go in to a big Indian grocer and ask for Guur. Sold by the pound - also near the beginning of the film Ishqiya it shows the process of it being made, but they're calling it 'jaggery'. 150 languages in India, apparently ...
Jaggery is the same as sugarloaf? I never knew that. The Indian cook books I have call it jaggery too.
