Very probably summat to hide. I've usually found that land-owners who act like this are either badger-baiting, culling foxes, or doing summat environmentally dodgy (polluting streams, rivers) that they shouldn't be - and obviously don't want you on 'their' land. Either that, or he just hasn't had it in years! Pity I don't live nearby - I'd take all and sundry for a walk to the place, regularly.

Just go & see it anyway. Land is land and it belongs to no-one. He's not english is he?

I've never met the guy so I wouldn't know. I have thought about just going but I think you have to walk through his farmyard to get there and there seems to be no other access.
