I've been bitten by a Notonecta (it was a fair cop, I was pestering it) and it's painful- they inject a flesh-dissolving mixture through their tubey buggy mouthparts.

It's a bit late for egg laying but a bug might want to move house sometimes? actually IMO they're big and would have obscured half the lens - I'm going for the alien ufo option myself
