Well I reckon if pure economics was ruling what happens in Avebury then given the amount of visitors it gets there's room for several more restaurants, a Pagan museum, a Crop Circle cafe, an Art shop and several more antiques shops. Look how Glastonbury and Tintagel cater for their visitors. Not that I particularly want it to turn into a tourist trap but I somehow doubt if the dominant landlord will allow it, so I reckon there's more going on than mere rural decline! The biggest amount of trapping tourists is by NT themselves.
