Avebury - End of a village

I was astonished to learn that Avebury school is being closed in July forever.
Apparently the land is to be sold off to a developer.
Planning permission has also been granted for 5 new houses on the site of the old garage north of the circle.
With the Post Office closing in October Avebury is all set to become another NT show village.
Shame
