Sorry for talking shop on a Sunday...
You are right Littlestone, the woman doing the ordering at Avebury is an exceptional person, she has even among others had Andy Worthington there for a book signing, also Josh Pollard & Mark Gillings; this is possible because she has a clearer idea of the customer base whereas it appears traditional at EH to only consider who the proprietors are !!!
She does still stock 15 million different pot-pouurris though (to be fair you would not know you were in a NT shop if there wasn't pot pourri)...
VBB
PS I seem to recall that the editor of 3rd Stone once purchased a massive number of samples of the crap on offer in the Stonehenge shop - fridge magnets were actually quality in comparison to some of the cringy tacky tackle...In a hundred years time some archaeo will find that box of stuff in Neil's old loft and suggest he had been a covert fridge magnet worshipper - get rid of it now Neil !!!
