Yes of course - isn't that what I said? We are a mixture and all the better for it. Whenever I feel particularly anti-Roman, I recall Kipling's verse about the centurian when his cohort was ordered back to Rome.

last verse:

"Legate, I come to you in tears - My cohort ordered home!
I've served in Britain forty years. What should I do in Rome?
Here is my heart, my soul, my mind - the only life I know.
I cannot leave it all behind. Command me not to go!

It probably wasn't quite like that, but it might have been.
