Places you may be tempted to miss

Cairnbaan

On my first visit I missed out Cairnbaan because after Achnabreck we were so keen to get on and up the valley to the other sites, don't make our mistake. Park at the lock near the (posh) hotel. It is clearly signposted and isn't that hard a climb to get to. BTW the hotel does a mean Cullin Skink.

Dunadd

Sitting out on it's own you might zoom past the road down and then think 'will get this tomorrow'. Then, tomorrow comes and it's chucking it down....

There is a great vibe to Dunadd and the view from the top looking across the weird flat landscape really lifts the soul.

A drive too far possibly? Stuck in the visitors centre perhaps? You've come all this way get yourself down the road, just remember to slow down as you come down the hill or you'll go past it. The straight view across to Jura may leave you pondering like others if there is a corresponding site somewhere on Juras rocky slopes.

My ten pence.
