Just as I finished typing in I heard on the telly downstairs something about ancient monument...

low and behold it was a piece on a bronze age settlement at St Stephens. It looks like the archeologists are busy excavating at this very moment. They have found several bits of pot that they reckon to be about 3,000 to 4,000 BC in age.

However, the whole site is due to be covered by clay waste next year as has been suggested.

I got the impression they will be happy for this to happen as long as they have had a good look about first.

Will try to find out more...
