I've come across another reference, in Crawford's 'The Long Barrows of the Cotswolds' (1920): <I>"....the large area covered by Sarsen stones at Ashdown Park (which are in a natural position, and not placed in lines as stated by Waring and other authors)...."</I> Oh well, back to the archives.
