Just above & right of centre. Spotted this strange bunch of rocks on a platform near Caer-dyni, but couldn’t get access without being just TOO obvious! (Doesn’t seem to be marked on Landranger for what that’s worth....)

I love photographing stones in the evening...you just can’t lose! (Tho crap scans don’t help much!)
The whole site is littered with massive stones that look like they were once part of the ‘monument’ or an associated one. There’s one faintly visible on the right of this ‘moody’ shot....
(Also note the slope – I wasn’t falling over, so it must’ve been like it!)
What can you say – there’s 4 of ‘em, they’re stones, they’re near Radnor, and they’re big buggers!!!
You can ‘feel’ where the circle would have been. Mostly I could ‘feel’ the rain trickling down me neck....
Gate from outside – the gateposts are more visible on Kammer’s shot from the inside, but here you can see the tops of them plus one in the wall....
Stones in wall – interesting even if not in original positions etc
Miserable looking me for scale – unfortunately tree hides top of stone but not top of me.....
The circle must have been a SERIOUS size – the flankers suggest an enormous recumbent stone
Looking east. Imagine a fully-fledged recumbent stone circle to the right of these flankers and the recumbent stone between them. It’d have been an absolute classic!
Invaluable description of walk – even points out some places where it’s easy to go wrong! (I did it without the recommended compass, but the weather was good!!)
How can something that’s such a mess be so attractive?
First view of Bryn Cader Faner in the distance
If you see the Llyn Eidew-Mawr lake you’ve walked too far and should’ve turned left.... (worth the detour I reckon!)
The circle is on the way to Bryn Cader Faner. The sun was low as I made the walk in the evening light. This generally made for good photos, but unfortunately the circle was shaded by the hill....
Stunning view over the bay as you climb towards Bryn Cader Faner
Didn’t get closer. In the days when this was taken I didn’t like risking things like trespass. It’s become a bit of a hobby in itself nowadays....
Good job I never came here as a child growing up in Medway. I’d have got the blame for knocking it down.... “Oooh mum, I never touched it...Honest!!!”
The number of times I cycled or drove past this as a child or teenager is just scary. Never heard what it was so never went to see it – probably wouldn’t have been interested anyway.... Ironic that I should have developed such an affection for ‘dolmens’ in particular!
The Tor from Weary-All Hill, with ‘Joseph of Arimathea’s Thorn’ in the foreground
The Tor just visible centre horizon from South Cadbury Castle hillfort
I’ve got a bench a bit like that. Mine’s on the patio though....
It was getting so dingey at around 2.30pm on (admittedly) a winter’s day, that I had to use flash....
The weather was filthy and it was getting dark. The ridge the road passes over/through is the barrow. The stones are in the trees to the right.
Love that sky! (Tiny in the background 2/3 right, Jane can be seen tracing the crop circle....)
Shame about the ‘refraction’ but I love the haziness....
