Brown Willy in distance to right.
The first cairn found when coming from the north. Brown Willy (left) and Roughtor (right) dominate the skyline.
If approaching from the A30 direction, having parked in the lay-by near Temple Fisheries. Walk out accross the moor in a sth westerly direction passing some earthworks on your right. This will be your first view of the northern stone.
Looking towards the ‘modern’ summit (on the right) To the left is a low pile that is possibly one of the barrows, althgough very ruinious.
I believe this to be a section of the hedge above the West Looe river at SX23555439. Very nearby is the fallen Watergate menhir.
Looking along the stone towards the woods
Stone is about 6ft long. Earthwork of Giants hedge can be seen behind.

Looking west, I have tried to outline the enclosure with pink pen....dosen’t make finding it any easier!
Looking uphill towards the Blocking Stone of the stone row. This is the western end of the enclosure.
The next stone going west...looking west.
One of the easier to find stones......looking back towards Fox Tor
Sometimes it is best not to disturb the locals.....
Even with a wider angle this is still not easy to capture in all its splendour

Ring Cairn (not easy to photograph)
View from the bottom...not any easier to make out! The avenue starts from just to the right of the small cairn in the foreground and makes its way up to just level with the sheep but to the right directly below the aerial. Took me a while to find today...despite following my own directions!
View from east
...to the lighthouse...Godrevy Lighthouse to be precise...the inspiration for Virginia Woolf’s book of the same name.

The new clean Nine Stones.....
Another hut circle, looking west towards the monument
Hut circle in the dip between monument and castle...very near parking area.
This stone stands just to the north of the monument. It is thought to be a gatepost to the original neolithic hillfort.
I think it’s known as the Devils Chair...
The two stones as seen from a top the cairn.
The two stones photographed to show lineup with southern cairn of Carn Brea.
In a field at the southwest end of the carn stands two stones, about 4 to 5 ft high. The jury is out as to if they are ancient or just old gateposts or rubbing stones....I’m not sure...go have a look.
Another shot of the ‘gatepost’.
Many will tell you this is a gate post...and indeed it is!..but it is thought to be a gatepost to the hillfort on top of Carn Brea. It can be found beside the road up onto the carn from the south side.
