A “one-of-a-kind” cache of 933 Iron Age gold coins whose finder was convicted of attempted theft is to go on permanent display close to where it was discovered.















A hoard of “exceptionally rare” 3,000-year-old gold ornaments, found by metal detectorists in Dorset, is the subject of a campaign to keep it in the county.
Plans to protect Stonehenge from future developments are under way.
The proposal is to introduce a planning document for Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site which will have to be taken into account when authorities are considering upgrades to roads or other visitor pressures at the “internationally significant” site, Wiltshire Council’s report states.

A metal detectorist has described his amazement after finding all three parts of what is believed to be a Bronze Age axe head in a field at his family farm.
