Looking north.

Looking straight west towards Jura.

Remnants of the wall looking south west.

Looking south, Cnoc na Faire behind.

Looking north east.

South west section.

Taking the long way round I approached from the north.

From the south east.

The dun, in the clearing, taken from Cnoc-an-t-Samhlaidh (Summer Hill)

The slight depression in the middle is the front door on the east side of the dun.

North east section.

The south west.

Remnants of stonework on the south wall.

The north wall, the island of Eilean Traighe almost immediately below, Eilean Dubh slightly further out.

Looking north west down the length of the dun towards the Paps Of Jura.

The north side, the north of Jura in the background.

The south side of the dun.

Robert the Bruce said try, try and try again, I took his advice, at the third attempt I made it.

The trees in the middle are in front of the dun.

Looking north west over the cairn.

The small burial cairn, fern covered, outline just about seen on the right side, badger track through the middle. Ed checks the details.

Looking north west.

Looking north east.

The centre has been well houked.

The south side.

North side of the cairn.

Half way up the hill to the south.

Taken from the road, more fallen / pulled down wall.

Fallen or pulled down wall on the north

Probable flooring, excavated by the wonderful Mr Ed.

Blocks on the south west.

More impressive blocks, most of the broch was probably used to create the road below.

The best of the remains, impressive size of building blocks.

The remnants of the cist.

Looking over to Dun Creich.

Kerbs on the north and east.

The big boulder indicates the east side of the cairn, probably not part of it.

Looking north over the site.

In the woods behind there is another cairn, we took the very long route to it.

The kind tree puts a protective branch over the remnants of the chamber.

North side of the cairn looking south.

Taken from the track.

The cairn is also home to a wonderful tree.

The top of the cairn, almost strimmed to death.

Sadly not much remains of this cairn, it’s been badly trashed.

Up on the track heading towards the very ruined Cambuscurrie Wood Cairn.

The far east, turf covers the furthest east section.

A wee shelter has been made plus one of these daft walker’s things.
