Visited the site today. A huge fort in its day commanding views along the Thames towards Reading. The only earthworks still remaining were on the western side of the camp, but you could make out the eastern edge quite easily by the crop marks on the slight ridge cutting across the field towards the small wood. A big fort in a lovely part of the world, and it's not everyday you get to see Alpacas on a hill fort. ginger tt Posted by ginger tt
