Loynmore W Cairn is located in moorland c. 150m E of the A837, c. 1.5 miles N of the A835/A837 junction at Ledmore, a small settlement in the Highlands. At least 7 large kerb stones remain on the NW-E arc of the round cairn. Loynmore W Cairn is a grassy mound measuring c. 16m in diameter and 1.3m high according to trove.scot 4628. There is a grassy rectangular hollow in the centre of the mound, measuring c. 1.8m E-W and 1m transversely. It may be the remains of a robbed out chamber.

Directions:
A short distance north from Lyne chambered cairn. It is visible from the road.

We parked on the grass verge – not a problem in this part of the world.
I walked over to the low, grass covered mound and saw several small stones sticking out of the grass. There’s not really much else to add.

Canmore states:
‘The cairn is no more than 0.8m high. There is no indication of a chamber of any structural feature’.
