Great artistry, I live close by (local!) + have spent many times walking the rim. There's some (alleged) old flint mines on one side.
Thanks for all your comments. Jane even more appreciated from an artistic point of view. This landscape is almost more breathtaking than the Uffington White Horse (but not quite). Nobody ever seems to be around when I visit. Yes to spoting the old flint mines just under the line of trees to the left of the painting.
Would love to visit the Roman Wall Country....on my list of places to visit soon.
