‘L’Anthropologie’ volume 31, for 1921.
Lots of drawings of the lovely Gavrinis carvings. It’s a shame they’re not photographs. But as even drawings seem to be hard to come by on the internet, I was most pleased to find them.

I don't speak French, but p18 and 19 seem to be comparing the carvings to the patterns of fingerprints?
Btw I've found some photos in an article in the 1992 Journal of the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland (v122)...
Just been turning the pages, fascinating. We can but wonder what that was about (I agree about the fingerprint-like patterns).

There's an option to download an English translation of the book's text on the site
Oh I didn't know that - where do I look for that feature? that could come in handy
Use Chrome to find/open the L'Anthropologie vol. in Internet Archive link. In the 'download options' menu beneath the book, highlight the 'full text' option and click the download arrow. It opens the text and a Chrome pop-up menu asks: 'always translate French' , tick this option for the translation.
I thought I'd seen a more direct translation option on the page when I posted my comment but can't see it now.
