28th August 1999. We kept returning to the Callanish Stone Circle on at least 4 or 5 occasions during the few days we were on the Isle of Lewis both alone and in the company of Margaret Curtis whose guided tour of the Callanish complex (taking in 3 stone circles) is an absolute must for anyone visiting the stones offering a fascinating insight in to the stones and there purpose. The impact of the Callanish site is amazing and we will return for the regleam event in 2005.
