Not a bad spot for a standing stone on the southern tip of south Uist overlooking the sound of Barra. Theres a cosy pub of the same name right next to the stone which I recommend a visit. The pubs been there for ages and acted as a stopover for travellers between Uist and Barra in the days when the trip took days rather than hours. Less is known about the stone, I like to imagine it was important for people crossing the sound of Barra thousands of years ago.
Can certainly recommend the pub, The Polochar Inn. Stayed there for a couple of nights when visiting South/North Uist ten years ago, Lovely scallops.
We had the scallops too, incredible! Caught the same day apparently
