Head south out of Ardminish, take the road to Achamore Gardens, look north west over the graveyard and up as you come to the car park, the stone will be seen poking its head above the various vegetation. Included amongst the vegetation are brambles, they grow in abundance on Gigha.
Probably not in its original position it still has good views and also made for another easy site to visit.

Very interesting stuff on Google Earth too. Reckon I’ve found two boat burials, guess Viking therefore not for TMA, plus intriguing circular crop marks. Also when you translate from the Irish not Scots Gaelic things pop up…

Correct. On the island now. Spurred on by Irish Gaelic - English auto translate my suspicions about a very large new site at the top of the island have been confirmed. I’m hoping to get the Ranger in to see what we have toollessly hand cleared - got the wounds and blood - before we leave for home tomorrow.
Have also found some great new stuff on Colonsay. I’ve already had a long chat with Kevin McByrne about these, all new to him it seems. Will get stuff up on TMA asap. Reckon the authorities need multiple notifications. Walk through vids done as well as pix. I couldn’t be happier with this trip’s results.

Well done for sniffing too. I haven’t totted up yet but finds on Gigha must be approaching double figures.. not all big stuff, diddy cairns, but all add to the picture eh? Will be madly busy catching up on work but I’ll upload here when I can. I managed to contact Cassie-Jo the Ranger and the chance of official inspection by the Edinburgh bods may be some way off, maybe two years… I wonder how many field staff they have these days. Whenever, an island visit after the bracken shows is pretty futile I reckon. As for those brambles..
