Like many standing stones on Quiberon they have been repositioned to make way for tourism, I did know where this one came from, lost the link somewhere along the line. As you say it is now a monument to all the lost children of France during the war, and it was big!
I assume from the brass shell sculptures that this a war memorial, but there can't be many standing stones with six flagpoles of their own!
