Excuse my lack of diction, WOW!
An awesome picture of an awesome site. I wish I had taken that photo when I visited.
Well, before I first came I did wonder what all the fuss was about... I mean, it's nowhere near 2,000ft. But WA Poucher loved it, so that was (eventually) good enough for me to take a look. As if the notion needs any more evidence, height is no indicator. Similar to Stac Pollaidh.
That is truly awe-inspiring. Is the green ‘grazing’ area accessible?
I didn't venture, but from what I could tell, yes.
The best access to the Table at Cuiraing is from a small car-park at the summit of the Brogaig to Uig road. The walk-in is little more than a stroll, but the final rise to the Table is up a steep (but manageable with good boots) eroded path which climbs up from below the Prison and past the prominent Needle, to the Table.
A photo of this access path has been uploaded. The photo dates from 1988, so the path may well be even more eroded nowadays. I haven't been up there for several years.
