
From top: Large capstone rests on smaller, secondary capstone, rests on backstone and padstone, rests on sidestone. The padstone levels out the secondary capstone, blowing my theory that the backstone was once taller and that the large stone in the chamber is part of this.

You should really see it for yourself tsc. I roamed around the tomb for about half an hour, marvelling out loud at its construction. I hadn’t been here in ages and had forgotten how enormous it is. One of the unmissable ones.
It looks it, just been looking through the others photos of it. What an amazing construction.
