Sadly a fire break was driven through the centre of this cairn during the fires on the hill July 2018

Aaargh. I realise that it was a dire emergency, but really they could have driven the break 5 yards either way and missed this.
!!!! The one positive is that the fires and subsequent peat erosion may have revealed other features previously hidden.
Just been discussing 3 or 4 such features spencer. Gonna try and get up there over the next couple of weeks

At some point I'll be back on the lidar spencer, just waiting for the UK coverage to get higher resolution and more complete. Then I'll finally work out how to programmatically query the actual lidar downloads and generate a lidar pic for every site on here...
Yippee when that happens but not nagging : ) I was hugely impressed with the lidar imagery that was released for Ramsey Island earlier this year, oh that that standard of stuff was available UK wide, oink oink flap flap
