
This beautiful white quartz stone is incorporated into the field wall by the Malin More tombs. Given the ruinous state of the tombs I wonder if this stone was taken from one of them.

With Mr G. I love quartz, fantastic stuff. Old quartz quarries near Portsoy, 12 miles north west of Turriff, is were the Victorians mined quartz to make various bits of jewellery.
I love white quartz too Drew. I told a little story somewhere of taking a piece of white quartz from Glencolmcille (it was just lying around). My friend said jokingly I would upset the fairies - we took it back later in the week and replaced it where I found it :)
