Link County Cork County ryaner Jan 24, 2015 Roaringwater Journal ‘Visual rubbing’ of a rock art panel in Derreennaclogh, Co Cork.
Excellent recording of impressive motifs .
Didn't find find the last section at all "romantic" more "brutalist ". If anything it demonstrated why the original was like it was and nothing like the modern view of what was supposedly being strived for .
Grateful to this guy for spending the time to do this. Do you think the technique would work on other, less flat panels?

More difficult but the results were so good it would have to be worthwhile .
Personally , I prefer photographs/photogrammetry to any other recording and certainly don't have a problem with stitching high quality pics together .
Drawings and rubbings are too subjective and rarely capture the "flow" of the markings and texture of the surfaces .
John Borland , who is an illustrator for RCAHMS is the only person who comes near to getting the same quality of info from pics imo .
