Despite the easy access – by broad, stony track – there is a nice remote vibe here within the Inchnadamph Forest.
There's that remote vibe to nearly all of the great stuff you've been posting lately. All this recent set reminds me of your broch hunt a while back and has made me jealous again.
The remoteness is actually relative this trip.... a lot of the sites are not that far from the road, probably accessible to most. There's very much an Irish vibe in the far north I think.... stuff sitting on hillsides in plain sight and the locals not really bothering since 'it's always been there', tourists hurrying past to the sanctuary of luxury lodges and hotels. Not knocking the latter, but I've always wanted to take it more slowly...
